Fruit trees are a great investment and give you a better return than anything else in your garden and they take less looking after. One small apple tree can produce up to 500 apples in one season, and carry on producing for 15-20 years. Planting trees with different harvest times will provide you and your family with apples for up to 8 months of the year.  You will know exactly what you are eating, good honest fruit - no sprays - no chemicals - no wax (unless you choose to use them of course!). The cost of organic fruit is high, growing your own costs about 1p a piece over the years.

Trees have a benificial effect on our enviroment as they filter the air, even their roots improve the soil. For the wildlife (and us) they provide shade and habitat, bringing pollinators into your garden.

Fruit trees for a small garden

Fruit trees for a small garden

This is a selection of trees that are suitable for a small garden. Traditionally sized fruit trees are too big for most modern gardens. These trees allow you to grow your own fruit fresh from the smallest garden or even a patio. All trees are planted on a dwarf rootstock so size will not be an issue, stake and feed regularly and you will be rewarded with a bumper crop

Pear Trees

Pear Trees

People who want to grow your own, love to grow pears because they are sweet tasting, and perhaps the easiest fruit tree to grow. Pear trees have fewer problems with insecs and diseases than other fruit. They just grow and produce year after year, with very little fuss or attention. Pears get far less attention than other fruits. Yet they are sweet tasty, and nutritious. Like apples, they keep well, if picked when still green. If kept in a cool location, they will last for months.
